More than ever, the agricultural industry has received backlash and criticism in our society. From issues revolving around conventional to animal agriculture, the livelihoods of those who feed, fuel, and clothe the world are under attack. That is why voices that believe in the future of agriculture must continue to speak up. The purpose of this blog is to do just that.

About the Owner: Dawson was born in rural Iowa, where he grew up on a small acreage with horses, dogs, and chickens. He was actively involved in his local FFA chapter throughout high school, where he served as the chapter president. Upon graduation, he attended Des Moines Area Community College. He recently graduated from Iowa State University, obtaining a bachelors of science degree in agricultural communications.

He started the Heartland Report in February 2020 where he had a platform to discuss current events in agriculture and share the stories of those within the industry. Dawson also writes opinion articles for AGDAILY Media and the Iowa State Daily. He is a 2021 National Association of Farm Broadcasting Scholarship recipient, and is a member of the NAFB.

Dawson has a passion for communicating agriculture as he believes more voices need to stand up for the industry. He easily found a place in ag media, as it offered the best of writing and agriculture. “I believe the future of agriculture is dependent on the willingness of people to stand up for the industry.”
